5. Cycling in the cool air along the banks of the Rhône
Head for the blue way for a leisurely cycle ride in the shade of the tall trees lining the river. Far from the scorching tarmac of roads in direct sunlight, this route along the Rhône allows you to enjoy the scenery whilst staying cool, carried by the breeze that naturally blows upstream. 6. Finding refuge in the shade of the forests
The Rhône Crussol mountain ranges offer numerous shaded trails, perfect for escaping the heat whilst enjoying a rejuvenating walk. Under the canopy of the trees, the temperature can drop by several degrees compared to the valley, and the air is cooler, filled with the scents of the woodland.
One important reminder, however : always check that access to the forest is permitted and strictly observe fire prevention measures, which are particularly strict during periods of drought. In summer, every little bit helps to preserve these precious natural areas.

It’s also an opportunity to discover hilltop villages, unobstructed panoramic views and a more peaceful way of life.
